All I have to say is:

Congratulations, Mr. Obama. I'm looking forward to the next four years.

Since you're a person who's been to Harvard, Chicago, and Hawaii, does that make you qualified to be president, too?

I didn't much think about Obama's race until today, really. However the earliest news images that impinged upon my child's eyes were a wall of german shepherds and club-wielding police slamming into a group of people marching for voter registration. (To get to vote, fer crissakes!) On the six-o-clock news. In our living room. That very day. In the USA.

I am very moved by the fact that Obama is black.

iPods are so self-manipulative. Three times today I got choked up. Once at "A Change is Gonna Come," by Terence Trent D'Arby; once at "I Wish I Knew How it Would Feel to Be Free," by Nina Simone; and once (I kid you not) at "The Battle Hymn of the Republic."
